MANAGEMENT CONSULTING
“I work with companies like I do with 1:1 clients, I become their personal trainer and coach. I see an organization like I see a person’s health and fitness. I use analogical thinking from my education in human physiology to create innovative solutions for company founders, management, and industry operators.”
With a background of 15+ years specializing in fitness and wellness, I’ve seen the global industry grow from billions to trillions. An estimated pace of growth of 57% by 2027 broadens investment potential and drives unprecedented market value. With the emerging surge of 'longevity’ and ‘early medicine’ fields of study, due to Millennial to Baby Boomer demand, so comes a surge of opportunity and greater consumer impact. My work continues to shape Toronto’s Fitness and Wellness industry with the following success examples:
Equinox Fitness Clubs - to ensure an aligned market penetration into the new Toronto industry, I galvanized the founding team of group fitness instructors via a private year-long leadership event series called 2.0 Toronto, in collaboration with Adidas.
Othership - to facilitate effective program delivery with a truncated launch, I quickly onboarded my network of hand-selected fitness coaches as the company’s first cohort of ‘guides’. Furthermore, to broaden the appeal of it’s original programming, which was heavily focused on psycho-socio-emotional coaching, I created and championed programming more focused on the physiological and exercise recovery (e.g. classes I designed and developed were “Deep Stretch” and “Embodied”).
Totum Life Science - to re-energize their Group Fitness Program, I re-designed their overall program to focus on ‘holistic health performance’ with hand-selected coaches specializing in Mobility Training, MSK Strengthening, Breath-work Practice, Mindfulness Training, Posture and Pelvic Floor Conditioning, etc.
BEI Capital - to enliven a Holiday Inn takeover and makeover, I was given the challenge to create a new concept for the flagship BEI Hotel in San Francisco, so I asked the hypothetical question, “what would it look like if Lululemon had a hotel?” and made that our north star focus. We transformed the typically low occupancy floors 3,4,5, their premium ‘high performance health’ floors, and outfitted them with Peloton machines, oxygen tanks, weighted blankets, self-massage and recovery tools, passes to local Fitness clubs and Yoga studios, etc.
My X-factor as a consultant has come from the following guiding principles:
Principle 1 - I help balance and harmonize the focus between ROI (return on investment - tangible financial returns) and VOI (value on investment - intangible assets such as knowledge, credibility, and marketing exposure).
Principle 2 - I drive systematic culture shifts via measurable implementation strategies.
Principle 3 - I bring innovative vantage points to problems and derive regenerative solutions for sustained positive impact.
